    EDC 2009 Recap

To start off, EDC was AMAZING. Lots of little stories to tell, I will attempt to contextualize them all for your pleasure! First off, the DJs and times I saw them at:

    • Arrived at 5:30pm (event started at 4pm, damn you 110 freeway + Martin Luther King Jr. off-ramp!)
    • Met up with Cris at Angie’s car (I drove), where we readied ourselves for the festivities ;)
    • Split up with Cris once we got in (approx. 6:30pm) — bad idea, we never saw her again
    • Went to KineticField first — James Zabiela was finishing his set
    • Kaskade came on at 8pm, we danced a little and went on a ride
      • Ride’s name was “G-Force” for a reason ;) . Waited for about an hour or so?
      • Attempt #1 to meet up with Cris failed. Mind you, this was all in texting, no calling. Couldn’t hear anything.
    • Angie was choking in line, so luckily the guy in front of us let her have the rest of his beer, SCARY!
    • We were going to see Sander Van Doorn at CircuitGrounds for 30 mins then go back to the main stage, but that failed. Took about 25 mins to get out of KineticFields (horrible trafficing done by the event staff!!!)
    • Got to CircuitGrounds, Sander was late. Caught the end of Yoji’s set (approx. 9:30pm)
    • Decided to stay at CircuitGrounds to see Sander’s full set because we didn’t want to wade through a sea of people again. We stayed to see The Crystal Method afterwards (they finished at about 12:30am)
      • Here, I was very sweaty. I took off my glasses to wipe my face and let Angie blow on my face to cool down and someone danced by me, knocking my glasses onto the floor into a sea of people. I was SO scared, my favorite DJs were up next and I couldn’t even see! So, here I am crawling around the floor pushing people away. Someone nearby helped me with his iPhone (which are very bright I might add). LUCKILY my glasses only had a few smudges and no permanent damage! I had nightmares the last few nights about this, I kid you not.
