Thunderbird New Task Greyed Out

There is an issue in Mozilla Thunderbird when using the Lightning and Provider for Google Calendar plugins where you are not able to click “New Task” because it is greyed out. I outline a few very simple steps to fix this annoying problem in the video below. Enjoy!

YouTube’s iFrame Embed WordPress Issue

Since the end of January, YouTube has switched their default embedding option from to . The switch was made to offer better functionality on mobile devices. The new embedding options will allow users to view videos in either Flash or HTML5. Get the full skinny at: http://techie-buzz.com/tech-news/youtube-iframe-embed-tags.html

This switch has created an issue for WordPress 3.0.4 and below because embed code gets stripped from posts when switching from HTML and Visual modes.

The simple solution now is to just enable “Use old embed code” from YouTube’s embed options.

Make sure to tick "Use old embed code." YouTube will convert new "iframe" code to the old "object" embed code.

And there you have it, a simple fix to an annoying problem. I am sure WordPress is working now to patch the issue. Look for WordPress updates in the near future with a fix!

Well, this weekend was the last time the famed hip-hop and rap store, Fat Beats, in New York would open its doors for business. I actually found out about this on A-Trak’s twitter page; how sad. Here are some videos of A-Trak from the event. A-Trak TEARS it up although the camera works isn’t the greatest (especially with the sun in frame the entire time). Keep your eyes on his hands, MY GOODNESS. It’s funny when he gets his cities mixed up and asks, “How you doin’ LA?” Blush moment right there.

Digsby Build 73 and Me

Their video makes bold statements and from my first impressions of the program, it might be here to stay! I’ve been using a different, open-source, multi-platform chat client called Pidgin, and it has served me well for about 2-3 years. I first got it when it was called “Gaim” — it has, since, then expanded significantly. I just wanted to find a client that supported Facebook Chat, which Pidgin doesn’t — it does, however, have MySpaceIM (weird, right?). There is a plugin for FB Chat being developed, but it isn’t a finished product — and friends have told me that it doesn’t perform properly (causing Pidgin crashes, etc). Their documentation is from 2008…so..yea.

On another, related, note, I really liked some of the Twitter/FB update clients (namely Seemic Desktop and Tweetdeck), but neither of them have added FB chat. So, this brings me to Digsby — something I found just 15 minutes ago actually. So, without further ado, help me to welcome Digsby to my newly installed Windows 7 desktop, and see where it takes me.
